We support various organisations to ensure that children and young people are empowered to realise their rights and have their voices heard.

We also work to raise awareness and advance education of children’s rights to organisations and professionals. This includes the development and delivery of training courses, and supporting organisations to take ‘A Children’s Rights Approach’.

Get on Board Cymru

Our unique accredited ‘Preparing to be a board member’ training equips young people aged between 14-25 with the skills they need to undertake decision-making roles on boards, advisory panels and as trustees.

This is a 10-hour Level One CQFW qualification accredited by Agored Cymru that can be delivered either online or face-to-face.

We also offer a short version of this course as a taster and can tailor training to your requirements to help you to diversify your board.

This innovative and exciting project will involve: educating and empowering children and young people aged 9 to 18 in the Afan Valley on their rights; developing rights-based initiatives within neighbourhoods; working with communities to embed children’s rights into everyday practice within homes, existing services and the wider community; developing mechanisms to facilitate children and young people’s participation by supporting them to build confidence and skills to empower them to get involved in social structures, develop civic pride and become active citizens.

This project has been made possible thanks to Pen y Cymoedd funding.
