“Grateful for the warm welcome from Ysgol Maesteg Senedd School Council! Great discussion on the challenges young people face with transport poverty. Together, let’s work towards solutions for accessible education for all. #3milesinmyshoes #knowURights#EducationEquality #CommunityEngagement”
“Exciting news! The founders of Glyncorrwg Youth Forum met on 22.2.24 🌟. The creativity was flowing as our young minds designed a name and logo for our forum. 🎨 Can’t wait to see where this journey takes us! 🚀 #YouthEmpowerment #GlyncorrwgForum”
“Empowering our future leaders! 🌟 Croeserw Primary students dove into a workshop on UNCRC Article 15 – the right to meet friends & join groups. 🤝 Their brilliant ideas were showcased to the PTA, fostering a community where young voices are heard loud and clear! 👏 #YouthVoice”
Following on from our previous blog post, we were also very pleased to receive confirmation from Agored that the three members of BAYouth who recently completed our accredited ‘Preparing to be a board member’ training – on the hottest day of the summer when we all secretly wanted to be outside instead of cooped up in the CVS boardroom! – have passed the course and can now add a Level 1 qualification to their already impressive CVs.
Well done, girls!
“Big shoutout to Croeserw Primary School PTA for hosting an amazing young person’s event with Raspberry Creatives at Croeserw Community Hub! 🎉 The kids had a blast building tents during the junk modelling activity. Thank you for creating such memorable experiences! 👏 #Community #YouthFun” #ChildrensRights #Article15 #Article31
We were pleased to receive confirmation from Agored that all 12 pupils who completed our accredited ‘Preparing to be a board member’ training have indeed passed with flying colours and now have a Level 1 qualification to add to their CVs. Jannine recently passed the certificates to the schools to present them to the pupils, along with their marked workbooks.
The pupils – of Cefn Saeson, Cwmtawe and Dwr-y-Felin comprehensive schools – represent the Junior Safeguarding Board (JSB).
Well done, all!
We’re proud to have a very good relationship with NPTC Group of Colleges, for whom we have been commissioned to develop and deliver both Student Rep and Student Officer training over the past few years. Several students have been put forward to take our accredited ‘Preparing to be a board member’ training, as well.
Following this year’s Student Rep training, where we provided a total of ten interactive online sessions for more than 120 students, next week we will again co-deliver a tailored session for the newly-elected Student Officers, which is always enjoyable.
I’m looking forward to co-delivering this once more with James Morris, Senior Student Involvement and Diversity Officer, and hope the students will both enjoy the online workshop and find it beneficial to their elected roles.
