Another enjoyable training session for the Education Achievement Service (EAS) today. What a great bunch!

The EAS is the school improvement service of the five local authorities in South East Wales: Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen. They recently appointed a youth board - or two Pupil Engagement Forums, to be precise - made up of pupils from primary and secondary schools.

After running a session for its eldest members, all of whom are in secondary school, this time it was the turn of the primary-age pupils. And if I ever find myself lost at sea (with apologies to their parents and guardians for what I'm about to write), I'd want them to be with me, because as our group exercise to get everyone 'thinking outside the box' proved, they quickly decided the best ways to signal for help and keep safe.

Aside from their cool approach to crisis management, as this word cloud shows, they know exactly what makes a successful youth board and left me in no doubt that they will be an asset to the EAS.

Thank you to Ed and the EAS for the opportunity to develop and deliver this online training for you.
