ACCREDITED TRAINING FOR STUDENT GOVERNORS
Our accredited 'Preparing to be a board member' training provides young people with the skills and knowledge to understand trusteeship, so they can become board/panel members or governors. The aim is to empower them to realise their potential in having their voices heard and to participate in decision-making.
NPTC Group of Colleges put forward two students for this training recently to help with their roles as Student Governors, and we're always happy to receive feedback like this at the end of what is a rather intense (ten-hour) additional commitment on top of studying, particularly so close to the exam period.
What did you learn/gain from being involved? I gained a solid understanding of how Boards work and how they benefit organisations as well as the people sitting on the Board, and also how to run a Board effectively and things to avoid.
