Claire’s interest in children and young people goes back to her school days where she was a founding member of Powys’ Junior Local Safeguarding Children’s Board (Eat Carrots Be Safe From Elephants).

Following school, Claire took up the posts of Student Leader and later Student Mentor during her time as a Student at Aberystwyth University, with the Centre for Widening Participation and Social Inclusion (CWPSI) and the Student Support team – working with children, young people and students on a range of projects from Science and Engineering Week Science fairs to GCSE revision programmes and Summer University.

Claire trained as a Young Trustee with the CRU in March 2016 and has continued to support the organisation since; having now become one of the CRU’s younger trustees. Claire is currently studying for her Institute of Fundraising (IoF) Certificate in Fundraising and is also a Charity Apprentice; in addition to being a CRU Trustee, and hopes to further the voice of children and young people through her role as a CRU Trustee.

Welcome Claire, we look forward to working with you!
