The Children’s Rights Unit are opening a drop-in youth club!

The Children’s Rights Champions group are currently volunteering to help design the Centre and coming up with great ideas about the name, activities and how the Centre will look and run. The Group are also carrying out research on what other children and young people want in Neath.

The initial opinion survey carried out through local schools and in Neath Town Centre found 118 of 133 young people felt there was a need for a Youth Facility in central Neath and felt they would benefit from information on Relationships, Drugs and Alcohol and Careers. Children’s Rights Champions volunteer Cait, aged 12, told us:

'Children’s Rights are important, especially in this day and age. I think a Youth Centre will be very important to lots of people in Neath as I feel we are unaware of lots of our rights!’
