We are excited to have began the process of recruiting Children’s Rights Champions for 2014. We will be visiting the School Councils in the borough’s secondary school throughout May to help prospective new recruits to understand what the project involves. We are hoping to expand the numbers of young people and schools who are involved in this year’s accredited training and activities.

Last year’s champions met with young people from the South African project ‘Surfers not Street Children’. They also met with PC Richard Norris to discuss crime in the area, in particular the effects of drug use. The group also visited the Senedd building in Cardiff Bay to learn about the Welsh Government, as well as organising a residential weekend.
