Did you know the average age of a Charity Trustee is 57? And fewer than 30 trustee’s, out of a total of 810,000, are aged under 18?

The Children’s Rights Unit, in Partnership with the Neath Port Talbot CVS, are offering 10 young people aged between 16-25 the opportunity to take part in FREE training to equip them with the essential skills and knowledge to sit on Trustee and Management Boards.

Boards are elected members who come together to oversee the work of a charitable organisation and it is vital young people’s voices are heard at management level, especially when the organisation primary role is to support or work with children and young people.

Young Trustee’s and Board Members bring:

• Energy and enthusiasm to the services you provide having experienced them first hand,
• Fresh and innovative ideas,
• A contemporary set of skills and experience – e.g. understanding of social media,
• Opportunities to hear the youth perspective and service user’s voice.

The training will start on Tuesday 4th March from 4pm-6pm and run every Tuesday for 6 weeks in NPT CVS. Snacks will be provided and public transport costs can be reimbursed.

If you are a young person or a Trustee Board looking to engage young people in the management of your organisation, please get in touch with the Children’s Rights Unit on 01639 323030 or by emailing [email protected].
