Invitation to 'Rights Respecting Schools in Neath Port Talbot' Education Conference - 19th November 2014

In 2012, Wales became the first Country in the UK to embed the UNCRC into Welsh domestic law. This new measure states that all Ministers have a due regard to put children’s rights at the heart of all Welsh policy and practice when decisions are made.

This pupil led conference aims to showcase UNICEF Rights Respecting Schools Award which provides a practical framework to implement the values and principles of the UNCRC into all aspects of schools life. The day will recognise the impact and benefits that this framework is having on senior leaders, practitioners and more importantly children and young people.

Speakers from:

The Children’s Commissioner for Wales

Neath Port Talbot Council & Education Department

Wales Observatory on Human Rights for Children and Young People

And most importantly Pupils and Teachers from Rights Respecting Schools in Neath Port Talbot
