International Children's Rights Day

On the 21st November 2013, the Children’s Rights Champions hosted a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party to celebrate International Children’s Rights Day and the one year anniversary of the Children’s Rights Unit.

Children and young people from groups across Neath Port Talbot took to the stage to illustrate the inspiring work being carried out and to demonstrate how the UN Conventions on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) articles were supported through the work of their groups

The Children’s Rights Unit would like to thank Resolven Building Blocks, Neath Port Talbot Youth Council, Swansea University Students, the BRAVE Project, NPT Homes Youth Committee, Coed Hirwaun Primary School, Crynallt Primary School, Port Talbot and Afan’s Women’s Aid and Mini Fan’s for the wonderful poems, films and presentations, and for their contribution to creating the wonderland of Mad Hatter decorations.

We’d also like to thank the Minster for Communities and Tackling Poverty, Jeff Cuthbert AM for opening the event.

We look forward to seeing you all again at next year’s celebration.
