An Opportunity to Make a Difference

The Neath Port Talbot Children’s Rights Unit are looking for new members to join their Board of Trustees.

The Neath Port Talbot Children’s Rights Unit (CRU) is a Neath based Voluntary Organisation with the vision of promoting and protecting children’s rights in Neath Port Talbot.

The CRU Board is currently made up of a group of dedicated and committed members who bring a range of skills, knowledge and experience including: working with children and young people; the voluntary sector; disability; social services; equal opportunities; business planning and finance; the rights of the child and the Children’s Act. They have worked tirelessly over the last 10 years to gain Big Lottery Funding and establish the Children’s Rights Unit as a standalone organisation and we are now looking for new members to join the Board.

A Trustee must be:
• Able to attend 6 weekly Board Meetings at Neath Port Talbot CVS with a start time of 5.30pm
• Good at working as part of a team
• Good at communicating and have good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with people of all types and at all levels
• Good at decision making
• Able to remain objective and retain an overview
• Knowledgeable of local/regional area and background
• Understanding of issues facing children and young people experiencing disadvantage and the environment in which provision is being delivered
• Experienced in sitting on a Board (desirable)
