Children and Young People

If you’re a child or young person why not contact us to see how you can get involved? You could receive free training and the chance to gain qualifications, as well as playing an important role in promoting children’s rights and challenging negative attitudes towards children and young people.

Children’s Champions

The aim of this project is to recruit and train Children’s Rights Champions in every secondary school and alternative curriculum project in Neath Port Talbot. The Children’s Rights Champions educate their peers in children’s rights and provide support to those who feel their rights have been compromised.

Young Trustees

Did you know the average mean age of a Charity Trustee is 57?
And a fewer than 30 trustee’s, out of a total of 810,000, are aged under 18?
The Children’s Rights Unit offer young people aged between 15-25 the opportunity to take part in free training to equip them with the essential skills and knowledge to sit on Trustee and Management Boards and receive a ‘Preparing to be a Board Member’ AQA Qualification.
If you are a young person or a Trustee Board looking to engage young people in the management of your organisation please get in touch

If you’re a professional why not get involved and help us to improve the lives of children and young people by adopting a children’s rights based approach? Join the NPT Children’s Rights Alliance and participate in the local and national discussion on the children’s rights agenda. The Children’s Rights Unit can provide training, support, guidance and regular updates on children’s rights issues.
The Alliance will offer mutual support to its members and act as a mechanism for identifying and addressing issues of common concern. Members will receive training on children’s rights and the UNCRC to support their role of children’s rights ambassador within their organisations.

We co-ordinate an annual programme of free training and awareness raising sessions for professionals. Up to date information on our programme of events can be found on our Twitter feed. Or contact"

The CRU is also delivering training sessions on children’s rights to school groups. If you know a group that would like to get involved contact
